It was introduced by the government to encourage citizens to make provisions for their own wellbeing. It is well known that section 80D can be used to take rebate on the health insurance premium a person pays for self and family including their parents. This rebate can, depending on the age, go up to 1 lac annually. However, what if we told you that section 80D offers even more rebates? Everyone knows 80D but very people know or use 80DDB.

Maybe you are lucky to not have a serious illness in your immediate family. But do you know anyone who does?

While money cannot quite compensate for the pain and trouble of a serious disease, section 80DDB rebate does allow a measure of relief to the taxpayers who are taking care of their family. If you know such caretakers, please pass on this information to them.
